MBNA Class Action Lawsuit for Telemarketing (and 514-315-0512)
I am tired of MBNA’s phone calls. I really am. I haven’t blogged in a couple of months because I’ve been incredibly busy. Only the MBNA telemarketing machine could prompt me to come out of my blog-writing break by disrupting me beyond repair, ruining my day (yet again) and reducing my productivity at work to zero. (MBNA has merged with Bank of America according to their website).
Here is a summary of the call:
MBNA: Hi (how are you? blah blah).
Me: What number did you call? (I have another number forwarded so I wanted to know which he was calling).
MBNA: The computer picked it. I don’t know.
Me: Please remove me from your system.
MBNA: Ok.
Me: How can you remove me from your system if you don’t even know who you called?! (Is there an automatic system for removal built in? If there is, he didn’t appear to know about it).
Me: Let me speak to your manager.
MBNA: He’s in a meeting. (Of course he is…).
Me (yelling): I want to speak to your boss NOW. Don’t call me and then tell me your boss is not available.
MBNA (Puts me on hold): He can’t come, he’s in a meeting.
[This happens twice. If he was so sure the boss was in a meeting, why did he check twice??!!].
Me: What name is on the system?
MBNA: Peter.
Me: Peter WHAT?!
MBNA: Peter R.
Me (yelling): That’s not my name and there are millions of “Peter R’s” out there.
MBNA: (Hangs up on me).
I am sick and tired of dealing with companies who do not provide a clear, simple, and easy way to “unsubscribe” from their lists. This has to stop. Maybe I should consider a class action lawsuit. Are you with me? Do these telemarketers harass you as well?
