Maybe squeegee kids should open a car wash

The title says it all, really. Rather than annoying people for money, squeegee kids could do something constructive.

What is a lifer?

I visited one of my most visited websites www.dictionary.com to look up the word “Lifer” and see if I could find an appropriate definition. It turns out the site is missing one of my most used common explanations. It typilly refers to people stuck in prison or people who stay in the military for the duration of rest of their lives.

The new definition: Mine!

A lifer is essentially someone who does shleppy work. You might be a lifer (or actually, you are more likely to be one or become one if…) you dropped out of high school, you may have had a good job but now you’re so bored with it that people around you get sucked into your misery, and other reasons. Care to add some points… by all means!

Humidify using milk?

I was thinking about the humidity situation in my apartment and wondered what would happen if I use milk instead of water in my bowls. Would I benefit from the excess calcium that might evaporate into the air? If you have the answer, lemeno!

How should I humidify my apartment?

My apartment gets unbearably dry during the winter months. I have tried a humidifier but to no avail. The humidified air becomes stuffy and I inevitably open the windows and let cool winter air flow through the place.

Keeping the shower running with hot water seemed like a great idea but would be a total waste of massive amounts of water.

So I had a brainstorm of an idea. What would happen if I left bowls of water around my apartment? In theory, that should reduce the volume of dry, correct? I have never heard anyone speak of such an approach. Any degree of success may make it worthwhile of course, but I don’t know if it will work.

A couple days ago, I poured water into a bowl and have noticed that it has gone down at least a few millimeters since then. So far, no big difference in my life.
